2Ellie graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 1995. Due to her love of exercise, she then went on to graduate with honors from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore with her Masters in Physical Therapy in 1998. Over the past 14 years, Ellie has worked in a variety of rehabilitation settings including aquatic therapy, home health, and outpatient orthopedics.

In that time, she also furthered her education becoming a certified personal trainer and a certified yoga instructor. She also has studied with the Institute of Physical Art learning functional orthopedics and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, as well as the Great Lakes Group learning advanced joint mobilizations and muscle energy techniques for the ankle and spine. She has gone to courses with Kevin Wilk where she learned advanced clinical diagnostic tests and treatment for the knee and shoulder.

Ellie comes to us from Arlington, VA where she worked closely with a group of orthopedic surgeons who specialized in joint reconstruction, arthroscopic repairs of shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Ellie also treated a number of high school and college athletes suffering from sport-specific injuries and performed strength conditioning so patients could return to their sport strong and pain-free.

She is excited to join the BodyWise team to be able to incorporate her knowledge and love of yoga and pilates into the traditional physical therapy model and team it with acupuncture and Bowen therapy.
